For +Thunderstorm Thursday. This is a image of a discrete supercell in its early stages developing outside my neighborhood in Frisco, TX captured in the spring of 2012. Amazing to watch!  In case you are wondering, there are four main types of thunderstorms – single-cell, multicell, squall line or also called a multi-cell line and supercell.

Here is my contribution. Anvil crawler lightning captured in Benjamin, Texas last spring. Amazing branches in this one. It crawled right over our heads, just image how big this was. In honor of #ThunderstormThursday , curated by myself and +Christina Lawrie, I processed another image from my favorite storm chasing day in Phillip, South Dakota on 6-30-12. The image from a few minutes prior to this one is the most popular of my Clouds 365 Project (http://goo.gl/juK2dy).

This supercell was amazing, with all of the elements you need for a dramatic image happening at the same time. Love the landscape, the color and the lone lightning strike. I am happy with the way this one came out. Hope you enjoy!

Supercell – Ness City, Kansas from this past May

Isolated storm going up 30 miles from my vantage point in Frisco, Texas this evening. This is without a doubt, one of my favorite sights. It was starting to get a nice base with a over shooting top, the anvil was knuckling. Not enough moisture to sustain itself, so it was quickly gone. Was fun watching though  #clouds365

Drove from Dallas to Houston yesterday
