Hiked around the beautiful Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center outside of Fort Davis, Texas this past March. The conditions could not have been any better, perfect day to photograph clouds as well. This was our view overlooking the Davis Mountains and the surrounding areas. Amazing day. Â One of my favorite cloudscapes!

Photographing lightning requires long exposures most of the time. Left my shutter open (holding open with a trigger) for that amount of time during a incredible lightning show outside of Ogallala, Nebraska last month. The crawlers and CG return branches were amazing to watch! Exif: Canon 5D Mark III, 21mm (EF16-35) 3.7 seconds, f.5.0, ISO 125.
We had an amazing view outside of Atwood, Kansas of a approaching supercell. I had to capture 18 images from my left to right to get this 180Ëš view! This makes all the time on the road worth it! #stormchasing  #clouds365  #kansas  #panoramic Â

Captured lightning striking Lake McConaughy outside of Ogallala, Nebraska from the last week of my Clouds 365 Project. This was one amazing lightning show! This is one of my favorites from that night.
It has always been important to me to pass on my love of weather to my family, so we decided to chase storms together on the last day. We drove 8 hours from Dallas, TX to Guymon, Oklahoma and caught this amazing supercell at sunset. My family has been such a huge part of the Clouds 365 Project, I could NOT have done it without them. They love this project as much as I do. I wanted to honor and thank them with this last image. Don’t worry Grandma’s, the storm looks closer than it was!
Thank you so much for your support over the years, you have meant so much to me. I promise, I will continue to look up in amazement and photograph the skies, that is for sure. For now, I will take a bit of a break and reflect. Look for a book within the year hopefully!

We left Ogallala, NE this morning and headed for NW Kansas. This was the leading edge of a very ominous severe warned storm just outside of Herndon, Kansas. I love the shelf feature and the contrast between sides. Another favorite!
Left Hot Springs, South Dakota this morning to chase storms in NW Nebraska. Captured anvil crawler lightning this evening just outside of Ogallala, NE. Anvil crawlers are my absolute favorite! One of my favorites from the year!
