For +Thunderstorm Thursday. This is a image of a discrete supercell in its early stages developing outside my neighborhood in Frisco, TX captured in the spring of 2012. Amazing to watch!  In case you are wondering, there are four main types of thunderstorms – single-cell, multicell, squall line or also called a multi-cell line and supercell.

This is why I chase storms

They are amazingly beautiful when they are out on the Plains. I chased with my friends Mike, James, Dylan and Mallory this incredible supercell in Courtney, Oklahoma this evening at sunset. This was one beautiful, dramatic storms I have seen in a while. It was tornado warned when I captured this panoramic image. I loved the lightning striking though the inflow band. The structure on this storm took my breath away. Amazing! #clouds365   #stormchasing   #panoramic   #lightningphotography   #oklahoma

Revisiting images from last years chase season

Here is one of my favorites, captured last May in Albany, Texas on the backside of a supercell after it passed. It is called Spider Lightning. The flashes were occurring every few seconds from a anvil over our heads. I had never seen anything like it. Amazing power of nature. #stormchasing   #lightningphotography   #supercell

Shelf Cloud at Sunset

Powerful storms in the Frisco, Texas area last Thursday. This had to be one of the more impressive sights. Fast approaching storm with a long shelf cloud. It was in front of the storm looking like a wave building as it approached. This particular cell produced up to tennis ball sized hail in our area! #clouds365 #storms
