Spent an amazing week in Utah and Arizona with the family. Of course there were long drives and hikes to National Parks and monuments. Here is one of my favorites of the trip. Horseshoe Bend outside of Page, Arizona (Google Map Link to Horseshoe Bend). This is a 20 image multi-row panorama using my amazing Really Right Stuff PG-02 FG Pano Gimball head. It stitched seamlessly in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC new Pano merge feature.
Standing on the edge of Horseshoe Bend with camera, tripod and pano gimball head is a hair raising experience, especially when you look down at the cliffs below. I was giving my wife panic attacks. Below is a 20 and 40 image multi-row panorama. Really happy with the results and worth the temporary vertigo!
I would really like to know what you think. What version do you like better? I have had requests for prints, but I only release one version. Help me decide!

Hello ! Those are two great picture, well done ! I would choose the second one 🙂
Thanks Josselin!
I like them both but would select the bottom one due to the extra color from the sunset
Kelly, both are good shots, but I would go with the second one. The first has a touch of an overhead shot to it, while the second appears as though you are looking straight into the distance. It has a better feel to it.
I would personally choose the bottom one. More color for starters, AND there is just a tad more room between the river and the bottom of the picture that shows off some of the rocks on this side.
Hello ! Both are STUNNING pictures, but I would choose the second version.
the bottom one for all the reasons noted before & the highlight in the river of top one keeps taking my eye away from everything else. Both are fabulous!
The second photo, love the sunset.
The bottom is gorgeous! May I have a copy?
Thank you Debbie!
Thanks for your feedback Mark!
Great observation! Thanks for the comment Sanda!
Excellent. Thanks!
Interesting. Some people like the reflection from the clouds. Your right about it being some what of a eye leading distraction! Thank you!
Thanks Michelle!
Thank you. I will be releasing one of these this week. Thank you!
Tough decision, but I think I’m more drawn to the “After sunset” (bottom photo).
Thanks Kellie!
Top…the cloud reflection is too beautiful to pass up. The pink in the other is awesome too.
I think the second one. The pink after sunset glow is amazing. 🙂 Love your photos. <3
Personally, I prefer the top one, but they are both good
going with the pink sky – but like them both, amazing
Beautiful shots and a tough choice, Kelly! I like the color of the rock in the bottom pic, but I’m really drawn to the clouds and their reflection in the water, with the resulting water color of the top shot. I guess I’ll settle on the top pic!
the bottom picture with the pink sky is stunning!
Thanks for the feedback Jimmy! Appreciate it 🙂
Thank you so much!
I am going with the second one because of what everyone else has said, but also because the light of the sunset sky bathes the rocks and highlights their color. It also enhances the detail of the rock and accentuates the blue of the water. Both beautiful but one more sombre blues and the other catching the light.
Thank you Cynthia! 🙂
They are both amazing. But I like the top one better. The light and clouds reflecting off the surface of the water really brings it to life.
This would have been a good candidate for HDR. That being said, I prefer the top photo, although both have merit.Like the water more in the top photo, but the sky more in the bottom, for example.
